The men in blue in Bunker, Indiana just handed in their resignation, leaving the town without a police force.

Massive  employee walkouts usually protest poor working conditions or a push for higher wages. But these cops have a more noble reason. They refuse to take part in the City Council’s corruption!

Conservative Tribune reports,

“In their resignation letter, Thomison and the four police officers said they were forced to “do illegal, unethical and immoral things.” These included running background checks on other town councilors, the officers allegedly having been threatened when they refused.

They also said the cutbacks had jeopardized their safety.

“I did not want to send someone out there with bad body armor, so I would take mine off and provide it to the other officers. I told them we have to provide this, there is an (Indiana law) that explains that and says that the town has to provide that body armor.”

These officers show an amazing amount of courage just showing up for work everyday and putting their lives on the line when duty calls.

But imagine the courage that it took to walk off the job. Especially right before Christmas.

As the massive corruption in our government continues to be exposed, it’s easy to scratch our heads and wonder how it became so rampant.

Sure there’s no shortage of evil in D.C. Then there’s greed, cronyism, ambition and special interests. Some may even be living in fear of blackmail or being added to a famous “body count.”

But it’s not much different than most workplaces.Overwhelmingly, most people put up with an enormous amount of crap at work for one simple reason. They’re afraid of losing their job.

Survival mode kicks in. We need to pay our rent, our bills and feed our family. That’s why most of us  cross the line and sell our souls. A little bit at a time. But not these cops. They’ve got a thin blue line guarding their souls and conscience. They deserve major kudos.

Please share this and thank them for standing up to corruption and draining the swamp in Bunker, Indiana!
